Hacks to master Inorganic Chemistry Class 12
Chemistry is one of the easiest and most rewarding subjects to study for on the Boards, JEE, or NEET. One can use chemistry as a hidden weapon for scoring gentle marks in exams. But sometimes inorganic chemistry irritates students, and yeah, it is common due to its exceptions and unexpected reactions.
But today you’ll get something special from this post to tackle this exceptional chemistry. I am going to give you some tips to overcome this subject with flying colors.
In a Proper Manner, refer to NCERT.
Most of the time, students try to read NCERT (Chemistry chapters) in one go, and afterward, they face the issue in problem-solving, but that’s not the right way. The proper way is to divide the chapter into multiple subparts and then try to understand those by reading, writing, and highlighting the particular part. Make sure to highlight the important concepts, sentences, and reactions. This division method will help you understand the topic deeply.
The concentration while reading the concepts should be more to remember for a long time.
Basic Concepts: The Weapon
You should not directly jump into the detailed topics. First, you must understand the basic topics and concepts. For example, to understand coordination chemistry and block chemistry, your periodic table and bonding should be stronger. Try to work on the basic topics, solve numerous and different types of problems, and finally, when you are done with these topics, switch yourself towards good and tough concepts, it will be easy for you now.
Practicing and Problem Solving: The Technique
It is very important to practice when you are done with the theory part. The application of any concept is a major portion. Most of the time, students try to solve problems from the whole chapter in one go, but this method should not be your first step. Instead, you should again follow the same division rule. For example, when you are doing Chemical Bonding, do not attempt the questions from the whole chapter, try to divide it into sections like Hybridisation, VSEPR, VBT, MOT, etc., and solve the questions from these divided topics after a quick revision as you have already highlighted the important part. After all, when you are finished with this step, you can try the question for the whole chapter in one go. Make sure the questions you are doing can be from the NCERT book, exemplar, VK Jaiswal (reference book), PYQs, and sample papers.

More Emphasis on IMP topics and Exception memorization: The Attack
I am listing some of the important topics and chapters for boards, JEE, and NEET.
- The Periodic Table (concepts used throughout chemistry)
- Chemical Bonding
- Coordination Chemistry
- P Block (mostly from 13, 14, 15, and 16 groups)
- D Block (Sometimes questions come from the F block as well.)
- Metallurgy
Well, everything is important, but something is more, as I mentioned above. Apart from this, when it comes to exceptions, students get stuck here, but I have something for you. Whenever you read or learn any exception, note it down on paper and make a list of exceptions. Try to read it on a daily basis. You can even paste it on a wall, study table, or even make it your phone wallpaper. You will feel that after 10–15 days of regular revision, those exceptions have better fitted in your mind, and you will not even take a single minute to revise it. Try it once, you will see a change.
