Study like You Play Chess
Ah! It was going to be such a perfect day. We had planned a great picnic at this new picnic spot with a couple of our friends. How excited we were to lay down on the grass, and have some cold juice together.
This time friends did not give a BT, but it started pouring down heavily. The rain just flooded the picnic spot and more than a grass field, it became a puddle for the kids to play in.
Little screaming kids, annoying aren’t they, but nothing we can do about it. So, we were just thinking about what we should do to cure the boredom. Hey, that’s right, how about a game of chess?
Why should students play chess?
Common, chess is much more than just putting a few white and black pieces here and there on the board. It is just like playing soccer, but for your mind.
It is a pretty interesting game. The main advantage of playing it is, that you do not have to step out of your place. Just pull out the board from your cupboard, find a person to play with and you are all set.
Trust us, if you are an introvert, this is probably the best game for you to sharpen your mind. Who knows you might become a topper too. Oh, BTW if you want to know a few hacks, that will up your performance in studies, check this blog out.
Few more reasons
Here are a few more reasons to play this game:
A. Sharpens your mind
B. Improves planning skills
C. Increased concentration and focus
Playing this game involves a lot of strategy and thinking. You have got to be careful with what your next move will be. Your army relies on you and you are not the one to accept defeat now, are you?
When you think of your next move, you plan very carefully. What should your move be and how will the opponent be able to counter it? All this thought process improves your ability to plan.
In a strategic game like this, you have always got to be on your toes. Your focus should be on the game. So, playing it repetitively would build immense focus. And if that doesn’t, then try and win the game after losing your queen to the opponent.
Benefits to your education
In the current era, a lot of students go in circles, when it comes to planning their studies. They make some mistakes here or there in planning, and that is what leads to their suffering during exams.
However, now that you play chess and have adapted the above benefits you will excel in your studies. This is how:
A sharp mind enables you to catch things in one grasp, whether a concept or understanding how to apply a formula. So you would not have to beat your head over some concepts which could have become a roadblock on your way to success.
Planning as we spoke is where a lot of students go wrong. This game however will help you improve your skills in this area way better.
When you build a practical and achievable plan of what to do and when to do it, 70% of your work is done. Rest 30% should be taken care of by the execution of the same.
With a focused mind, you will be able to concentrate on the task at hand. We understand that there is a lot for you to cover up. But trying to stuff it all in your brain at once would not help. So focus on the task at hand.
